01The company

A plant built around one product

MODULX Composites & Casting Pvt. Ltd. has made Diesel Exhaust Fluid since 2020 and sells it as MODULX Genuine D.E.F. The 500 m² plant in Bhiwadi can produce more than 5,000 tonnes a month. It purifies its own water, mixes and filters on automated lines, and tests every batch in its own laboratory before packing.

Fleet operators, workshops, industries and vehicle makers across India use it to keep their SCR systems working and their engines within emission norms.

03How it works

From the tank to clean exhaust

DEF never touches the fuel. It has its own tank, and it's sprayed into the exhaust after the engine.

less NOx. Done properly, SCR with DEF cuts NOx emissions by up to 90%, and lets engines be tuned for better fuel economy and performance.

Exhaust leaves the engine

Hot diesel exhaust carries nitrogen oxides (NOx), a major cause of smog.

DEF is sprayed in

A doser mists DEF into the exhaust, where the heat turns its urea into ammonia.

The SCR catalyst works

Inside the catalyst, ammonia reacts with the NOx and breaks it down.

Nitrogen and water come out

What leaves the tailpipe is mostly harmless nitrogen and water vapour.

Tested in our own lab before it leaves

Urea concentration, density, refractive index, alkalinity, biuret and more are checked batch by batch against the limits in ISO 22241. Our DEF is BIS approved, and a batch that misses a limit doesn't ship.

Raw material inspection

Urea is checked for purity before it's accepted into the plant.

Water purification

Reverse osmosis and demineralisation strip out minerals and ions.

Precision mixing

Urea and water are blended to 32.5% on automated lines.

In-process testing

Samples are drawn and checked while the batch is being made.

Final product testing

The finished batch is tested against every ISO 22241 limit.
