01The fluid
Stronger, for the sea
AUS 40 is urea dissolved in deionised water at 40% by weight: more urea in every litre than the 32.5% AUS 32, or DEF, used on the road. A ship's SCR system sprays it into the exhaust, where it breaks down nitrogen oxides just as DEF does on land.
The two aren't interchangeable. Use the solution your SCR system is specified for, and ask us if you're not sure.
